Rubber, Latex & Plastics

The total capacity of zinc oxide industry is consumed around 50% by the rubbers and plastics.
Zinc oxide is an essential and the most used as the activator in rubber and plastic compound.

Zinc oxide can effectively improve the thermal conductivity of rubber, prevent the erosion of mold organisms and the damage of ultraviolet rays to rubber. The addition of zinc oxide prolongs the service life of rubber and strengthens the performance of rubber. When rubber is made into tires, belts, conveyor belts, Oil seals... etc. rubber products, the excellent physical properties of rubber greatly improve the safety of users. In addition, in white and light-colored latex reclaimed rubber products, zinc oxide is also a functional agent to be coloring and filling.

Feed & Fertilizer

Zinc is comprehensively recognized as an essential micronutrient in numbers of metabolic reactions in the human and animal.

As a result of the high bulk densities of zinc oxide, it is easily stored and used in mineral premixes for animal feed of cattle, swine, poultry, aquaculture, especially In the case of the piglets, the zinc oxide is usually able to dose in the feed for anti-diarrhea. Thanks to the good bio-availability in zinc, zinc oxide can be added in fertilizer for the soil improvement in agriculture.

Since 2004, Sun Beam Tech has been certificated its feed grade and the first one to get the Feed license from Agriculture Council in Taiwan. Meantime, our zinc oxide in feed grade is also in compliance with the criteria FAMI QS.

Ceramics & Glass

Zinc oxide is used in ceramic objects, such as pottery, tile, tableware, sanitary… , for glass objects, such as crystalline glass, artistic glass…

Zinc oxide is an important raw material for a significant contribution to increase glaze elasticity, it is also a vital fluxing agent for the frits and enamels, and its functional use is for reducing the shrinkage on cure and deducting the thermal coefficient of expansion.

Paint & Coatings

Zinc oxide is used in metal pigment, marine paints or container paints for coating. It is one of the typical raw material for used in white pigment. Zinc oxide can improve the properties in anti-fouling, it allows the pigment to absorb UV and it works as an active anti-corrosion for inhibiting fungi or mildew grow.

Zinc oxide is able to neutralize harmful acids and it benefits the water resistance for anti-rust.
Because of its good performance in anti-rust, it is also synthesized with inorganic acid to be Zinc Phosphate and it is frequently used for the coating of fasteners or steel and iron properties.

Electronics

Petrochemical

Zinc Oxide is mainly used in the additive of lubricant and grease. Its functional use is for the heat stabilizer of the running engine and it helps anti wear and corrosion in the meantime.

ln petrochemical field, one of well-known zinc oxide ability is to remove the sulphur dioxide and hydrogen sulphide. Zinc Oxide is the main role in the production of zinc dithiophosphates(ZDDP). The additive ZDDP helps reduce the oxidation, corrosion and wear in engine and it is specialized lubricants and grease formulations.
